Pavel Lungin’s highly-regarded 2006 film about a fictional 20th century Russian Orthodox monk, shot in Karelia on the shores of the White Sea, is the first in our series of free film screenings depicting the north west of Russia, as a reflection on our current exhibition, Richard Davies’ Russian Types and Scenes.
