Archimandrite Vassilios Papavassiliou was born in London to Greek Cypriot immigrant parents. He grew up in England. He studied theology at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki (Greece), Classics at Birkbeck University (London) and Byzantine Music. He was ordained Deacon of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain in 2004, and priest in 2007. He is Vicar General of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain and priest of All Saints Greek Orthodox Cathedral, London.
